The Complete Work of William Shakespeare was part of the 27th Macao Art Festival and was created by the British theatre company Reduced Shakespeare Company more than 20 years ago. The whole play rewrites Shakespeare’s 37 masterpieces such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet in a humorous and ironic manner, and aims to introduce all Shakespeare’s works to the audience. This performance is the world ’s first Chinese version of the play and was recreated with a script that is relatable to Macao and its local elements, to create resonance with the audience.
